Editing happens on your device. Your footage leaves it only when you sync it. We don’t sell your data or use it for ads.
[COMPANY NAME] (“we”) runs Nekocut. Here is what we collect, where it goes and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- Account: your email. Google sign-in gives us your email only.
- Synced projects: the edit (clips, titles, transcripts, comments), project and file names, small clip thumbnails, version history, and the emails of people you share with.
- Synced footage: preview copies, and on Pro your originals, when sync is on for a project. New accounts start with it on; Sync Source shows and changes it. Sharing a project turns preview copies on.
- Usage events: features used, errors, crashes and timings, with app version, device type, browser and plan. Linked to your account, or to a random ID in your browser when signed out. Never footage, names, titles, transcripts, comments or your email. We also keep when you first reached a few steps (first project, first export) and daily request totals.
- Support chat: your messages, plus a text summary of the open project (project and file names, sizes, the timeline, title text, sync status) and your device and browser. Never footage.
- Payments: a Stripe or Apple customer or transaction ID, subscription status and dates. We never see your card.
- Technical: your IP address, to deliver the service and block abuse. Sampled server logs are kept for a few days. Anonymous app opens are counted by country.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage, usage events, logs, email.
- Resend: sign-in and account email.
- Google: if you sign in with Google.
- Anthropic (Claude API): support messages and the project summary, to draft a reply.
- Slack: each support question, your email and the draft, for the person who answers.
- Stripe and Apple: payments.
- People you share with: an email naming you and the project, and the project itself.
- An agent tool you connect: can read, screenshot and edit that one project, under its provider’s terms.
- Hugging Face and GitHub: serve the AI models for transcription and voice isolation, which then run on your device.
These providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere.
On your device
Projects, media and exports are kept in browser storage (IndexedDB and private file storage). Local storage holds your sign-in token, settings and the random ID, and on iOS the last few seconds of playback activity for crash reports. We set no cookies.
How long we keep it
- Free preview copies: cleared after 14 days without use, with an email at 12.
- Removed copies, and copies that leave with your free slot or an ended plan: gone within a day.
- Unfinished uploads: 24 hours. Sign-in links: 15 minutes. Sessions: 90 days.
- Version history: thinned to your plan’s limit.
- Usage events: about 3 months.
- Deleting a project removes its name and saved versions at once, and its footage within a day.
- Everything else, including support threads: while your account exists.
Deleting your data
You can delete projects and cloud copies in the app. To delete your account, email [CONTACT EMAIL] from its address. That removes its projects, saved versions, footage, comments, shares, support threads and settings, and cancels a card subscription.
- Cancel an App Store subscription yourself, in Settings.
- Comments and edits you left in other people’s projects stay, shown as “Deleted account”.
- Not removed early: usage events, which expire in about 3 months, and database backups, kept up to 30 days.
- Support questions already sent to Slack are not removed.
- Stripe keeps its own billing records.
Your rights
Email us to get a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it. We use it to run the service you asked for, keep it secure and improve it.
Children
Nekocut is not directed at children under 13. If you think a child has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email about significant changes.
